So you've had your pride and joy ceramic coated, what is the best way to wash and maintain it?
What is the best wash soap and car care products for ceramic coated cars?
In this blog post we'll show you the best products to maintain ceramic coated cars and simple tips to keep your ceramic coating looking great.
What is best car wash soap for ceramic coated vehicles?
Its best to only use car wash soaps that are pH Neutral because they are safe for ceramic coatings. Avoid using any car wash soaps that have any waxes or sealants in them.
We recommend using our Vehicle Wash for your car wash because of its ph Neutral formula.
It provides a thick foamy lather that will help to lift dirt away, preventing any surface scratches when washing.
To keep your car clean between washes, we recommend using our Quick Detailer spray as it's also pH Neutral and won't affect the ceramic coating. It's simple to use and perfect for removing fingerprints, smudges, water spots and light dust.
Simple Car Wash Tips to Maintain Your Ceramic Coating
1. Don't wash your car in direct sunlight
We recommend washing your vehicle when its overcast, or do it late in the afternoon or early morning. This will prevent the products from possibly drying on the paint.
We also recommend that you do a pre-wash with a pressure washer to remove excess dirt, wash your wheels & tyres first before paint and wash the car in sections.
2. Use two buckets to wash your car
It's essential that you use two buckets when washing your car, one bucket for the soap and one bucket with clean water for rinsing your wash mitt. If you are only using one, every time you dunk the foam or wash mitt in the wash bucket, your foam or wash mitt will be covered in dirt/grime. In turn, you are then wiping it across your car, potentially scratching the surface. Read more about using the 2-Bucket Wash Method in another blog post here.
3. Use a Premium Microfibre Wash Mitt
We recommend using a quality microfibre wash mitt when washing a ceramic coating as its gentle and won't scratch the coating.
4. Use a Foam Cannon
The best way to apply a soapy foam layer or wash soap on your ceramic coating is with a foam cannon. A foam cannon is a bottle that connects to a pressure washer, it mixes the perfect amount of car wash soap, air and water to make thick foam to spray all over your car. Then you can use the wash mitt to glide over the surface without scratching or making swirls in the paint. Read more about using foam cannons here.
5. Use a premium Microfibre Drying Towel to dry the car
We recommend using a premium drying towel to dry your car as its gentle on ceramic coating, its easy to use and will dry your car in minutes.
